The first step is a brief phone call to determine whether I might be a good clinical fit for you or your child, and also to establish that I can offer an appointment time that works for your schedule.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other (and/or for me to learn about your child and family). We will review your concerns, and put it into the context of your history and background. I'll also have the opportunity to talk to you about how we might collaborate to create a treatment plan to address the challenges you describe. By the end of this session, I should have a better idea about the possible duration of treatment
I do not participate with any insurance plans, but many insurances offer some partial reimbursement for psychological services. Before our first session, you may want to call your insurance company and inquire about out of network benefits for the following commonly-used treatment codes:
90791 (Diagnostic Evaluation)
90834 (Individual therapy session, 45-50 minutes)
90847 (Family therapy session, with patient)
90846 (Family therapy session, without patient)
